Basic Poker Rules Modifications:

Poker Hand Rankings can be formed using the Colors as Suits or Ranks, in addition to the Standard Poker Hand Rankings.

The High Card method used for Tie Breaks is determined by the highest Rank Point Number or the highest Color Point Number depending on how the card is used, not the Standard Rules use of Rank. Standard Rules use of Rank.

Object of the Game:  To win a Bet by forming a 5 Card Hand with the highest Poker Hand Ranking, or if all of the other Players Fold.  Players use 2 cards in their Hand and 5 Community Cards to form a Hand.

Number of Players:  2 to 10 with 1 deck

The Deal:  Players take Turns as the Dealer going clockwise.  The use of the 2 Jokers is optional, but not recommended.

The Dealer starts by Burning, or discarding, the top card, then giving each Player 2 cards Face Down.  The 2 Face Down cards are called Hole Cards or Pocket Cards.

Betting Rounds:

The first and all Rounds of Betting are played using the Standard Poker Betting Rules where Players can Fold, Check, Bet, Call, or Raise.

After the Hole Cards are dealt, the next player clockwise from the Dealer Bets the Small Blind, which is the first forced Bet. The next Player clockwise must Bet the Big Blind, the second forced Bet, which is twice the size of the Small Blind.

In a Limit Game, the Big Blind amount is the minimum Bet, after the first Big Blind has been played.  For example, in a $2/$4 Limit Game, the Small Blind is $1 and the Big Blind is $2.

To play Pot Limit or No Limit games, see the Standard Rules Links at the end of these Rules.

The Big Blind Player goes last in the Betting Round and is allowed to Raise, even if the all of the other Players have Called.

After the first Betting Round, the Dealer Burns the top card and deals 3 cards Face Up to the table between all of the Players. These 3 cards are called the Flop.

Then the second Betting Round begins with the first active Player to the left of the Dealer.  After the second Betting Round is over, the Dealer Burns the top card, then places 1 card Face Up after the Flop. This card is known as the Turn or Fourth Street.

Then the third Betting Round begins with the first active Player to the left of the Dealer.  After the third Betting Round is over, the Dealer Burns the top card, then places 1 card Face Up after the Turn Card. This card is known as the River or Fifth Street.

Then the fourth and final Betting Round begins with the first active Player to the left of the Dealer.

In a Limit Game, any Betting Round that has more than 2 active Players at the start is normally limited to 1 Bet and 3 Raises. If a Betting Round starts with only 2 active Players, there is no limit on the number of Raises.

The Showdown:

The remaining active Players after the final Betting Round place their Hole Cards down Face Up clockwise with the last Player to Bet or Raise Showing first.  If all Players Checked in the final Betting Round, the first active Player to the left of the Dealer Shows first

Each Player declares their 5 card Poker Hand Ranking choosing from their Hole Cards and the 5 Community Cards called The Board.  Players can use the Ranks or the Colors to form a Purple Rules Poker Hand Ranking.  Players have the option of Playing The Board, which is using all 5 Community Cards in the Board.

Winner of the Pot:  The Player with the highest Ranked Purple Rules Poker Hand wins the Pot.  See the PURPLE RULES POKER HAND RANKINGS below.

If 2 or more Players have the same Poker Hand Ranking, see the Tie Break Rules below.

Tie Break Rules:
A Tie Break is decided like the Standard Rules of Poker by using a High Card.  The modification with the Purple Rules is the method of determining the High Card.  If the Ranks are used to form the Poker Hand Ranking, the card with the Highest Rank Point Number is the High Card.  If the Colors or Suits are used to form the Poker Hand Ranking, the card with the Highest Color Point Number is the High Card.  The Point Numbers are compared and the highest Number wins.

If the highest Point Numbers are the same, the second highest Point Numbers are compared.  If still Tied the third highest Point Numbers are compared.  If still Tied, the Pot is Split between the Tied players.

Basic Strategy:
In standard Poker the most common winning Hand is a High Ranked Pair or Two Pairs.  Any Hand above Three Of A Kind is considered an almost obvious Hand to bet on.  When playing Poker with this deck and the Purple Rules, the most common winning Hands are a high Three of a Kind or a Full House, with Four of a Kind or a Straight not uncommon.  This makes it harder for a Player to predict if they have a possible Winning Hand.  This increases the strategy needed when Betting and makes Bluffing a more viable tactic.
